eSIM Transfer Guide

Confirm the transfer method before changing phones

Whether an eSIM can be transferred directly depends on the phone models, software versions, carrier, and plan rules. First determine whether to use the phone's transfer feature, request a reissue, or move a removable eUICC card.

Important: do not remove the eSIM from the old phone yet

Keep the eSIM on the old phone until installation is complete and service works on the new phone. Some QR codes are single-use and may not reinstall the profile after it has been deleted.

1. Use the phone's built-in eSIM transfer

If both phones and the carrier support quick eSIM transfer, open the mobile network settings on the new phone and choose “Transfer from nearby phone” or the equivalent option.

  • Update both phones to a supported software version and enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • Approve the transfer on the old phone when prompted. Do not delete the original profile during the process.
  • Afterward, test mobile data, SMS, and calls where those services are included in the plan.

2. Request a transfer or reissue

If direct transfer is unavailable, contact the carrier or an official MeSIM support channel. Support may request an order number, ICCID, EID, or other information needed to verify the account.

Submit only information required for the request. Redact unrelated numbers, identity documents, payment details, and other SIM information from screenshots.

3. Move a removable eUICC card

If the eSIM profile is stored on a removable physical eUICC, such as certain eSTK cards, power off the phones and move the card to a compatible new device according to the product instructions.

This does not apply to a phone's built-in eSIM. Confirm card and network compatibility before moving it.

Final checks

  • Keep the order and installation details private; do not publish or forward the QR code.
  • Do not assume an old QR code can be scanned again. Follow the rules for the specific plan.
  • Delete the old eSIM only after the new phone is connected successfully.
  • If transfer fails, stop repeated deletion or installation attempts and contact official support.
